I'm back from my whirlwind tour of Southern California! It was fun and I'm still recovering...I love vacations!!

Here's a quick re-cap of my trip:

Thursday 6/28:
fly to LAX in afternoon
Sara and I get dinner at Grand Lux and hang out

Friday 6/29:
pedicures in the a.m.
spent the day in Santa Monica, walking the Third St Promenade and soaking in sun on the beach
Evening Alison Krauss concert (my b-day present) at the Greek Theater in Griffith Park (in the Hollywood Hills)
** Bluegrass is always best when performed outside, and this particular concert was in hills with the sun setting in the background...beautiful

Sat 6/30:
San Diego Zoo all day!
It was awesome! 90 degrees, sunny, amazing animals, TONS of fun!!!

Sun 7/1:
church in the a.m.
visit the Grove and Farmer's Market, walking distance from Sara's apt
Venice Beach in the afternoon
met Sara's friend Lisa in Los Feliz for yummy Mexican food
Griffith Observatory in the evening, where I got to see Venus and Saturn. I could see Saturn's rings! It was amazing!!

Mon 7/2:
chilled in Sara's apt while she went to work
packed
arrived back in Seattle at 11pm

It was such a great trip and I had so much fun! I hadn't seen Sara since January, so that was great to see her and spend so much time together. And it was the first time in a year that neither one of us were on crutches, causing much reason to celebrate!
(what can I say, we're klutzes...)
